- A square is an exercise that involves four people standing at equal distances from each other. The essence of the square is that the players take turns passing the ball to each other in a one-touch fashion, trying to pass it exactly at the feet of a teammate. This exercise will help to train the accuracy of short passes, as well as techniques for receiving the ball.
- Chasing is an exercise where you have to hit the ball as many times as possible without letting it drop to the ground. This exercise should be given fifteen minutes a day, preferably all thirty. When performing the ball chasing, do not stand still, try to alternate left and right leg, use your knees.
- Running with the ball also helps to improve technique: you will learn to control the ball in motion, and not to let it go far from you while running. Try to run at least a kilometer a day in this way. It is also useful to change the pace of running, alternating between acceleration and jogging. When you learn to control the ball well at high speed, include in the exercise “feints” and circles.
- Steeplechase is familiar to every professional soccer player: objects are placed on the field symbolizing the players of the opposing team, which should be circled on the run.
- At the beginning, practice circling at a low speed, and as your skill increases, speed up more and more, thus making the exercise more difficult.
Another exercise that is used by players is called “overhanging. It consists of two players standing at a considerable distance from each other (for example, on different sides of the soccer field) and passing the ball to each other overhead. The overhang develops vision of the field and improves the accuracy of the long pass.
